Nestled along the picturesque Via Pordelio in Cavallino-Treporti, Da Gino Trattoria Pizzeria offers an authentic Italian dining experience that beautifully captures the essence of Venetian coastal cuisine. This charming trattoria is renowned not only for its traditional Italian dishes but also for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and the stunning setting by the lagoon, making every meal here feel like a special occasion.
At Da Gino, the star of the menu is unquestionably the fresh, homemade pasta — a highlight many diners rave about. From the delicate gnocchi to artichoke and shrimp pasta that one guest called "the best pasta I've ever had in my life," each dish bursts with vibrant, fresh flavors. Seafood enthusiasts will delight in their seafood plates, praised for their freshness and generous portions, while pizza lovers will appreciate the perfectly baked pies crafted in a traditional gas pizza oven. A standout finish is their signature pistachio tiramisu, a heavenly dessert that leaves a lasting impression.
The dining experience is enhanced by the trattoria’s idyllic terrace, where guests can savor their meals under the open sky and even capture memorable photos along the quaint dock. The liveliness of the lagoon setting adds a serene backdrop that complements the inviting buzz inside the restaurant. Every detail—from the attentive, friendly staff to the approachable multilingual service—underscores the heartfelt hospitality that Da Gino is known for.
What truly sets Da Gino apart is the genuine warmth of its owners and team. Guests consistently highlight the attentive service from Maura, the owner, and her brother, whose hospitality makes patrons feel like cherished guests rather than simply customers. Whether you arrive with a reservation or follow the owner’s advice to wait patiently, the experience is always rewarding, as one visitor from Zurich found out after enjoying a well-earned Aperol while waiting for their table.
Da Gino Trattoria Pizzeria isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a destination that captivates your senses with every bite, every smile, and every moment shared around the table. If you find yourself exploring the beautiful neighborhood of Cavallino-Treporti, make it a priority to dine here. The consensus from patrons—locals and travelers alike—is clear: this is the best Italian restaurant in the area, a true culinary gem that beckons you to return again and again.

We did not have a reservation and the owner advised us to wait for about 20 minutes or come again next time with reservations. We waited and had an Aperol first. It was worth waiting as the food, wine and service was very good. Best regards from Zurich.

My wife and I enjoyed a truly memorable dining experience here. Everything was perfect for us, the menu, the service, the location, the meals. A highly desirable location by the Laguna. Would recommend reserving a table in advance, we did not but arrived early and they were able to accommodate us. As well as Italian, staff speak German and English and very friendly. Was a problem paying with my credit card, but staff were extremely patient and able to sort it all out with minimum embarrassment. Looking forward to future visits here. Dining outside inevitably invites a mosquito or two, but the vista is definitely worth it. We both had antipasti, main courses, wine and deserts costing total of €91.

The best Italian restaurant we've ever visited! On our trip to Venice we went here every day and liked very much the bruschetta's and pizza (I would like to buy that special oil they uses). Maura is a fantastic host. Thank you Mauro & Team (I hope to come back) - Caio

You need to try the gnocchi!!! The seafood plate is also excellent. Don't forget their signature pistachio Tiramisu! The terrace is very nice. You can even make a photo session on the dock! Food is fresh, there is a gas pizza oven. Portions are fair, on the bigger side. The price is ok for the region. The owner and his brother are very welcoming and we suggest you reserve if you want a table on the terrace. We went twice during our 7 day holiday! That tells a lot!!!

What an amazing place! We came across this Trattoria whilst out on a bike ride and I'm so glad we did. The most delicious, beautifully presented food in the most idyllic setting. The staff were very friendly and attentive which all added to the dining experience. My 15 year old son said it was the best food he'd ever eaten and we all agreed. We dined as a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and even with 2 picky eaters, there was plenty on the menu for them to choose from. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this Trattoria. It was just perfect!

Their pasta with artichokes and shrimp was the best pasta I've ever had in my life. The pasta was homemade, and it was just PERFECTION. The owners are incredibly warm and nice as well as the staff is very helpful and kind. You must try their seafood starters and wine !Pizza is very good, but the seafood is even better. In my opinion, Da Gino is the best restaurant for seafood in the neighborhood. I tried the strawberry tiramisu, and I must say it was very good. To sum up, if you want to have the best dinner of your life in a cozy restaurant with the nicest staff, go to Da Gino.
